Reintroducing the Cast of The Challenge: All Stars 2 Part 2 The Men

We finally got an official cast for All Stars 2 and I am excited as always for a new season so let’s catch up with who we will be seeing when it premieres on November 11th. I wrote about the ladies last week and now onto the men.

Brad

Last seen… paired with Kyle losing a math (and climbing)redemption challenge on Final Reckoning to Kam & Kayleigh

Most Memorable Moment… His win over Landon to get to the final on The Duel II. He employed a great strategic move by throwing up Landon’s ring to buy him the time to get his own carabiner on his ring and the only time anybody eliminated Landon on a season of The Challenge.

Who They Know…Brad is definitely one of the better connected people on the show due to his long wrong on The Challenge. He was on Battle of the Sexes 2 way back in the day with Sophia and Ayanna, Brad did several seasons with Tina, Jodi, Katie,Casey, Darrell, MJ, Nehemiah & Derrick. He did two seasons with Melinda including being on the same team on Cutthroat, Brad did Duel 2 & Gauntlet 3 with Ryan and was on Gauntlet 3 and won Cutthroat with Tyler. Brad also did single seasons with Janelle, Derek & Cohutta.

In terms of his closest allies, Brad has always been close with Derrick and he even does events with his Challengemania podcast. Another longtime ally for Brad was Jodi, she did all of her seasons with Brad and they were friends back in the day. Finally, I am really interested in seeing where Brad’s relationship with Darrell stands considering the last time they were on a season together they had their iconic brawl.

How Excited I am for them to be back… 4 out of 5 stars

I always was a fan of Brad back in the day he seemed to very much be one of the good guys on the show and was a great competitor. He then returned freshly divorced for a couple very messy seasons on Vendettas & Final Reckoning and was still one of the top competitors. I do not expect him to have lost a step and am happy to see him back with his “old school” peers.

Can they Win?

Definitely, he was always was a huge threat and finally got the monkey off his back winning Cutthroat and he was able to keep up with much younger players on Vendettas & Final Reckoning. Therefore I think he can definitely win in an All Stars setting.

Cohutta

Last seen…losing way too early on Battle of the Bloodlines

Most Memorable Moment… upsetting Wes on The Ruins and snapping his streak of eight straight elimination wins.

Who they know… Cohutta is not super connected compared with some people but one of his big connections is that he was an alternate for All Stars 1 and went on a vacation earlier in the year with Ryan, Casey & Sophia. He did The Island with Ryan and Derrick, The Ruins with Derrick, Casey, Katie, Darrell & Brad and Free Agents with Jasmine & Jonna. Cohutta is always talked about being one of the most liked people so even though he does not know that many people he may need to rely on his natural likability.

How excited I am for them to be back… 3 out of 5 stars

I know he is a big favorite for a lot of people but I am not as huge of a fan. Cohutta seems like he is a really good guy and is okay in challenges and entertainment but I have personally never gotten the love for him. I am reasonably happy for him to be here and maybe he will get me on that bandwagon now that he is back.

Can they Win? I think he has a pretty small shot but ultimately I think it is possible. Cohutta has never really played the game with cutthroat politics and he is a naturally smaller guy so he often ends up making it reasonably far just based on his likability but then ends up in an elimination because his size is a others would rather go against him than someone much larger. I could see him pull off a strong run in a final though were he able to get that far like Yes did last season but it will be a tough road.

Darrell

Last seen… Coming up a bit short to Yes in the All Stars 1 finale

Most Memorable Moment…Winning Fresh Meat taking home his fourth straight challenge victory

Who they Know… Darrell obviously knows everybody from All Stars like Laterrian, Derrick, Katie, Kendal, Teck & Nehemiah. He did single seasons with Steve, Jodi, Leah, Melinda & Cohutta. Darrell also competed on a couple of seasons with Casey, Tina, Ryan & Brad.

Darrell has some of the most interesting relationships to me going into this season. Obviously he is close with both Derrick and Katie who he worked with on several seasons. Kendal is Darrell’s number one dating back to their Road Rules season together he was in her corner also for All Stars even coaching her through the Knot so Fast elimination. Darrell and Brad the last time they were on a season together got in probably the second (only to the CT & Adam brawl) scariest fight in Challenge history. Finally Darrell has two alleged former showmances in the house, he and Leah were in a showmance through all of The Inferno and there have been rumors about Casey and Darrell hooking up as well.

How excited I am for them to be back… 4 out of 5 stars

Darrell is a great competitor and I am always pretty happy to have him back but we have seen him a lot recently so I am not as excited as I was when he came back for Invasion or Double Agents but I am particularly glad to see him with the complicated relationships this season.

Can they Win? No Question! Darrell is my front runner this season. He is one of the best to ever do it and coming off a near miss on All Stars 1. Darrell plays a great low key game to stay out of eliminations and excels in finals.

Derek Chavez

Last seen… losing blind stick fighting to Knight & Preston

Most Memorable Moment…I mean as he said during the promo video released by Paramount it’s him crashing into the potted plant during the fight on Battle of the Seasons (2012)

Who they know…

Derek is one of the least connected players this season. He was on Cutthroat very briefly with Derrick, Katie, Tyler & Brad. He was also on both Cutthroat and Battle of the Seasons (2012) with Melinda. However his two major connections are his friends and The Real World: Cancun cast mates Jonna & Jasmine.

How excited I am for them to be back… 1.5 out of 5 stars

I am really not thrilled with this casting choice. He is not an old school player, has not brought a lot of personality and was never a strong competitor. I would have much rather see any random OG but will at least give Derek the extra .5 over Melinda who I gave a 1 to for the women since she was on my list of people who got too many opportunities and that is not the case with Derek.

Can they Win? No, I really don’t think so he is a smaller guy and has very few allies. I expect Derek to end up in one of the first few eliminations.

Derrick

last seen… getting purged in the All Stars finale after he & Jisela were a disaster kayaking.

Most Memorable Moment… Even though he is a three time champion his top moment for me has to be his iconic pole wrestle with Joss as a mercenary on Vendettas.

Who they know… Derrick is similar to how Katie was for the ladies. Out of the 24 people on this cast Derrick has been on a season with 21 of them only not having done a season with Steve, Leah & Jasmine in the past. He has several close friends as well this season such as Katie, Brad & Darrell. Derrick does have his rivalry with Nehemiah to contend with which is not the best and does not have his close ally Mark. Although Derrick did gain one of his all time number ones Jodi who he was on Road Rules with and he was on all the seasons with her back in the day.

How excited I am for them to be back… 3.5 out of 5 stars

I feel like Derrick tries too hard often and it has made him come across a lot less genuine compared with back in the day when he was all heart. Regardless he is a legend and elite competitor so I am not trying to complain.

Can they Win? Absolutely! He had great season physically on All Stars 1 and had he not been purged on the kayak part I expect he would have been near the top with Yes & Darrell.

Laterrian

Last seen… losing a brutal tug-o-war elimination to Mark on All Stars 1

Most Memorable Moment… demolishing Ace in the first elimination of All Stars

Who they know… Laterrian has some solid connections from doing the first season of All Stars with Kendal, Jonna, Derrick & Nehemiah. Katie & Darrell did All Stars and The Gauntlet with Laterrian and Teck did both All Stars and Extreme Challenge back in the day. Finally back in the day Laterrian did The Gauntlet with Steve & Tina and both Battle of the Sexes & Extreme Challenge with Ayanna.

How excited I am for them to be back… 4 out of 5 stars

I was really excited to see him brought back for the first All Stars and he proved himself up to the task winning an elimination and the minifinal.

Can they Win? Yes I think Laterrian definitely proved himself physically capable last season but he will have to up his strategic game if he wants a better shot.

MJ

Last seen… getting knocked out of Duel II by Brad

Most Memorable Moment… coming in as a replacement for Duel II after CT & Adam were removed for fighting.

Who they know… MJ was on The Gauntlet 2 with Katie, Derrick, Brad & Jodi. He did The Gauntlet 3 with Nehemiah, Ryan, Janelle, Katie, Casey & Melinda. MJ also did Duel II with Brad, Nehemiah & Ryan. One of MJ’s top allies for this season has got to be Brad who he did each of his Challenge seasons with and they worked together on his most recent season Duel II.

How excited I am for them to be back… 4 out of 5 stars

MJ was always a pretty good competitor and had his best season his last season on the Duel II. He is a true old school was also pretty entertaining that season and Gauntlet 3 even if he was mostly forgettable on Gauntlet 2.

Can they Win? I think so, MJ was a decent competitor back in the day and he looks to be in good shape nowadays. I think he can definitely do enough to make a final and it will come down to if he has the endurance.

Nehemiah

Last seen… losing the final elimination of All Stars 1

Most Memorable Moment… unfortunately for Nehemiah it is still probably the awkward “showmance” with Beth on the Duel

Who they know…Nehemiah has a solid number of connections this season he most recently did All Stars with Kendal, Katie, Derrick, Darrell, Laterrian & Teck. He did Rivals with Jasmine, Jonna & Tyler, Duel II with Brad, MJ & Ryan, Gauntlet 3 with MJ, Ryan, Brad, Casey, Katie, Melinda & Janelle and The Duel with Derrick, Jodi,Tina, Tyler, Brad & Casey. His closest friend in the house is most likely his Real World cast mate Melinda and another person who he has been friends with in previous seasons is Ryan. He also has had an ongoing rivalry with Derrick that flared up during the first All Stars and I assume will still have an effect on this season.

How excited I am for them to be back… 4 out of 5 stars

Nehemiah is a quite good competitor and he is also a really unique guy who does not fit the macho persona of a lot of challengers. He got outsmarted when Big Easy was able to “hack” the final elimination overall I am really glad to see him back.

Can they Win? Yes I think he has a shot to win but he will definitely need to overcome his rivalry with Derrick who is likely to target him again.

Ryan

Last seen… losing the final elimination of Fresh Meat 2 after playing an excellent social game.

Most Memorable Moment… For me it has to be his three way make out session with Brooke & Davis on The Duel II

Who they know… Ryan is pretty in the middle of the pack in terms of relationships. He was just recently on vacation with Casey, Sophia & Cohutta as an alternate for the first All Stars season. He did Fresh Meat II with Darrell, The Duel II with MJ, Nehemiah, Katie & Brad, The Island with Derrick & Cohutta, The Gauntlet 3 with Brad, Janelle, Tyler, Nehemiah, MJ, Melinda, Katie & Casey and was on Fresh Meat with Melinda, Derrick, Tina, Casey, Katie & Darrell. His closest friends are most likely to be the alternate group from All Stars 1, his former partner from Fresh Meat Melinda is someone I believe he has stayed friends with and Ryan has also been friends with Nehemiah on seasons.

How excited I am for them to be back… 2.5 out of 5 stars

Ryan was a really good social player enabling him to go really far on 3 of his previous seasons despite being a weaker physical competitor. He always gave decent entertainment but is around a replacement level casting choice in my mind.

Can they Win? I really do not think he can he is simply not a strong enough competitor when compared with the other stud competitors on this season.

Steve

Last seen… losing to Trishelle in a puzzle elimination on The Gauntlet

Most Memorable Moment.. I mean… there is not much but I guess beating Tonya in an elimination

Who they know… Steve is a complete wild card he did a single season nearly twenty years ago. Tina, Laterrian, Darrell & Katie were all on The Gauntlet with him and both Sophia and Katie were from his same Road Rules season and both said they still keep in touch.

How excited I am for them to be back… 4 out of 5 stars

Steve is an absolute out of nowhere choice but he is an OG and he looks like he has gotten absolutely jacked now so I am happy to see what he has got.

Can they Win? Based purely on how physically tough he looks now maybe but a lot of the time people who come in as muscular as he is do not have the stamina so it will be a question of how much gas he has in the tank.

Teck

Last seen… losing to Nehemiah in the going out of tile elimination on All Stars 1

Most Memorable Moment.. For me it’s got to be his incredible confessionals in the first All Stars season

Who they know… Teck has only been on the first season of All Stars with Derrick, Laterrian, Nehemiah, Darrell, Katie, Jonna & Kendal. He also did Challenge 2000 way back in the day but nobody else here was on that season. I am the most interested to see where his relationship with Nehemiah is considering they clashed during All Stars and Nehemiah was able to knock him out.

How excited I am for them to be back… 4 out of 5 stars

As I mentioned when I ranked the All Stars 1 cast by how much I wanted them back Teck was an unexpected delight during All Stars. I am really thrilled to have him back again.

Can they Win? There is a chance he can win but for me Teck is definitely a long shot.

Tyler

Last seen… winning Rivals for his second consecutive championship

Most Memorable Moment… even though he was a part of the Bananas backpack for me it’s got to be that he followed up that elimination win by then taking out Derrick

Who they know…

Tyler was only on four seasons but has been on seasons with about half of the cast. He did The Duel with Jodi, Tina, Derrick, Brad, Nehemiah & Casey, Tyler was also on The Gauntlet 3 with MJ, Ryan, Katie, Melinda, Brad, Nehemiah, Casey & Janelle. Tyler also was on Cutthroat with Derrick, Brad, Derek, Katie & Melinda and Rivals with Nehemiah, Jonna & Jasmine.

His closest friend is definitely Janelle who he did The Real World: Key West with and was even in her wedding just recently. Tyler also won Cutthroat together with Brad so I would not be surprised for them to work together again.

How excited I am for them to be back… 4.5 out of 5 stars

I have gone down a bit on Tyler since I featured him on my list of people who I most wanted to see on All Stars 2 a few months ago mainly due to rewatching Rivals and forgetting how nasty he could be. Nonetheless I am still really glad he is on this season Tyler is an excellent competitor and always brought drama.

Can they Win? Definitely, Tyler won his most recent two seasons and looks like he is still in good shape He certainly has a decent chance to take this.
