The Challenge Scouting Reports: 5 potential Rookies from Big Brother Canada 9

The Challenge has overtime expanded more and more bringing on competitors from various different shows and all over the world. At this point there has been very little Canadian representation even though it would seem to be an ideal country to look at considering The Challenge already airs in Canada and since it is a predominantly English speaking country there is not trouble with communicating in a second language (which Turbo, Nam & JP all said they struggled with to some degree). So far the only Canadian Challengers have been Shaleen, Leroy’s on War of the Worlds, and (technically) Evan who was from Fresh Meat and not even from Canadian Reality TV.

Big Brother Canada has been running now for nine seasons with fans both in Canada and other countries including the US. The past season of Big Brother Canada just ended and it was a great season that if you like US Big Brother and haven’t watched Big Brother Canada already you should check it out. But also exciting to me is many of the contestants from this season could bring a lot if they are to come on a future season of The Challenge.

Rohan Kapoor

Rohan went in to this season of Big Brother Canada claiming he was going to be the villain but that was not how his story ended up playing out. Rohan quickly ended up down in the numbers and as a huge threat saving himself three times in a row by winning the veto before getting taken out midway through the game. He would be a strong addition to the Challenge checking pretty much all the boxes in my book of what I want to see. He got into fights and drama and has the potential to get into drama and fights in the challenge house too. He is a single flirty guy who I could see getting involved in showmances or hooking up on the show. Rohan tried to make big moves strategically and is a solid physical competitor so I could see him getting the power to make those swings on The Challenge. Finally, production should cast him since there have been few people of middle eastern/Indian heritage on The Challenge and I am always behind expansions of diversity in casting.

Austin Dookwah

Austin is also somebody who could be a great choice to bring on The Challenge from Big Brother Canada 9. She came in to the season looking like a pretty typical young girl who was on the show to have fun and be flirty but she also surprisingly competed well in a number of competitions on Big Brother winning an HOH and coming in second in other competitions. She wasn’t as huge of a dynamic character but she was definitely likable and would bring more personality than a number of other people that are on The Challenge now. On Big Brother she made some really strong social connections so if she were able to build that with some vets she could potentially be brought far in the game. Austin is a beautiful girl and got in a showmance on this season of Big Brother Canada so I wouldn’t expect her to be opposed in the future. Overall I think she would bring a lot if given an opportunity on The Challenge.

Jedson Tavernier

Jed was one of the stars this season of Big Brother Canada and honestly as soon as the photos and bios were released I thought he(along with another person) would be the perfect person to break through to The Challenge from Big Brother Canada. Jed is a big strong guy with a lot of personality and on top of that he was strategically running the game up until the final six when he was betrayed by his number one ally. He had a showmance throughout the course of the season and strong social bonds with a number of other players both of which could benefit on The Challenge where I could see him quickly becoming one of the bros and working with players like Cory and Nelson. Physically Jed excelled in Big Brother competitions and worked as a personal trainer before going on the show so he will come in as an immediate threat but sincere has the potential to win daily challenges and eliminations he could make an impact on The Challenge.

Victoria Woghiren

Victoria was a huge personality on this season of Big Brother Canada and although she didn’t look particularly athletic, she showed up winning 3 competitions including one that was pure strength holding up weight for an extended period of time longer than anyone else. Victoria also took a lot of big swings strategically and got in fights with a bunch of different people during her run on this season. I think she would be able to bring the same drama and competitiveness to a season of The Challenge. If she came to The Challenge, I could see Victoria be similar physically to somebody like Aneesa who is a strong competitor in eliminations and strength & puzzle based challenges but would need to improve her stamina for the climbing and running aspects of the show. Victoria could be explosive so hopefully would also bring that on The Challenge as well as being fun in the house & confessionals and a big flirt.

Tychon Carter-Newman

Tychon was the winner of Big Brother Canada 9 and if you just look at him it is obvious that he would be a great choice to bring on The Challenge. He was physically impressive in competitions winning 4 times after admittedly throwing earlier ones in order to keep himself a smaller target. Ty was really well liked socially building a strong three person group inside of the majority alliance that ran the game through the final 6 and after that built a final two that got him to the end of the game winning the vote 6–1. He was also a cutthroat strategist betraying his best friend in the game once it became clear that they would choose their showmance over him. Bringing Ty over to The Challenge, particularly with Jed who was both his biggest ally but also who he stabbed in the back, would bring a great dynamic and I don’t think I’m overstating it by saying he has the potential to be a future star of the Challenge and production should absolutely get him on the show at their first opportunity.
